Position Summary:

Eon Media is seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to expand our presence in the Canadian broadcast, media, and sports markets.

This role focuses on identifying target accounts, building relationships with broadcasters and media companies, engaging senior decision-makers, and converting these connections into commercial opportunities.

This strategic sales position requires targeted account selection, strong relationship-building, confidence in engaging C-level executives, and the ability to position Eon Media’s product as a solution to business and operational challenges.

Responsibilities

Business Development & Pipeline Growth

  • Identify and prioritize target accounts at broadcasters, media companies, production groups, content owners, OTT platforms, cable networks, and related organizations.
  • Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline across the Canadian broadcast and media technology market.
  • Create account plans that identify key stakeholders, decision-makers, buying committees, and entry points.
  • Prospect and engage new customers and channel partners through email, phone, LinkedIn, referrals, events, and industry networks.
  • Manage opportunities from the first conversation through discovery, demo, proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Take ownership of the sales pipeline, activities, and revenue targets.

Executive Relationship Building & Sales Execution

  • Build trusted relationships with broadcasters, media companies, C-level executives, senior business leaders, operations leaders, and technical stakeholders.
  • Understand customer priorities, workflows, challenges, and decision-making processes.
  • Lead conversations that connect Eon Media’s software capabilities to executive-level priorities, including efficiency, growth, scalability, and operational improvement.
  • Lead discovery calls, customer meetings, presentations, and product demo conversations.
  • Respond to RFPs, RFIs, procurement requests, and partnership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with leadership to structure pricing, proposals, and partnership models.

Market & Partnership Development

  • Research the Canadian broadcast and media technology landscape to identify new business opportunities. 
  • Track industry trends, competitor activity, customer needs, events, and partnership opportunities. 
  • Identify and build relationships with channel, technology, and industry partners, as well as consultants.
  • Represent Eon Media at conferences, trade shows, networking events, and industry associations as required.
  • Maintain an active LinkedIn presence and use targeted outreach strategies to connect with potential customers and partners.

CRM & Sales Discipline

  • Maintain accurate CRM records of leads, accounts, opportunities, proposals, and customer interactions.
  • Provide regular pipeline updates, forecasts, and activity reports.
  • Track deal stages, define next steps, identify risks, and schedule follow-ups.
  • Bring structure, accountability, and discipline to business development in a startup environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in business development, B2B sales, partnerships, account management, enterprise software sales, or media technology sales.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders, including C-level executives and decision-makers.
  • Proven ability to generate pipeline, manage opportunities, and close new business.
  • Experience selling B2B software, SaaS, media technology, broadcast technology, production technology, or other technical solutions.
  • Strong consultative sales skills and ability to sell to both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead discovery calls, presentations, demos, proposals, and commercial conversations.
  • Be comfortable working in a startup environment with evolving priorities and developing processes.
  • Demonstrate an ownership mindset, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar tools.

Nice to Have

  • Existing relationships in the Canadian broadcast, media, production, or technology ecosystem.
  • Experience selling to broadcasters, media companies, cable networks, OTT platforms, FAST channels, sports organizations, production companies, content owners, or channel partners.
  • Understanding of broadcast operations, media workflows, content distribution, scheduling, playout, media asset management, archive management, or video workflows.
  • Experience selling AI-enabled technologies, workflow automation, cloud-based media tools, or enterprise SaaS.
  • Experience supporting RFPs, procurement processes, strategic proposals, or complex B2B deal cycles.
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and French.

Work Environment

Eon Media is a remote-first startup. We trust our team to manage their time, take ownership, and communicate clearly. This role may require travel for customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and industry events.

Compensation

$55,000 - $70,000 CAD/year plus Commission
